KARI WHITLEY has been dedicated to horticultural endeavors for the last 17 years and focuses her efforts on plant health and landscape design. Whitley is a graduate of the University of Georgia (B.S. Horticulture, M.S. Plant Pathology) and has worked in research gardens, nurseries and co-owned a cut flower farm.
In 2004, seeing that horticultural professionals, landscape architects and homeowners needed someone to advise them on matters of plant health, Whitley founded Scout Horticultural Consulting. Six years later, SHC provides services throughout South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia. In every project, SHC uses a scientific approach and offers solutions based in practicality.
In addition to consulting, Whitley has taught courses (Trident Technical College and Horry-Georgetown Technical College) and lectures regularly.
